Biography

I was born on September 12, 1987, and grew up in my hometown of Lviv, where I have spent my entire life. I graduated from Secondary School No. 53, now known as the “Prestige” Gymnasium with an advanced curriculum in foreign languages.

After completing school, I enrolled at the Faculty of Economics of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, graduating with honors. Later, I pursued postgraduate studies at the Institute of Regional Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, where I worked for five years on my dissertation, which I successfully defended. Today, I hold a PhD in Economics.

To be a good politician means to be a leader. Leadership is, above all, the ability to master oneself, manage one’s thoughts and actions, and work as part of a team alongside peers. I developed these qualities in Plast, the Ukrainian scouting organization, which I joined at the age of 11. I served both as a mentor and as a liaison of the distinguished Nastia Lisovska kurin. I became passionate about sea scouting, even leading a girls’ kurin in this field and later heading the national water (sea) scouting direction in Ukraine. Today, I mostly share my experience with the younger generation as an instructor in whitewater rafting, while continuing to enjoy sailing and other forms of water tourism.

It was in Plast that I met my husband, Yuriy, who for three years led the largest Plast branch in the world — the Lviv branch. I am grateful to God that our paths crossed.

Why politics?

Before entering politics, I pursued academic and teaching work, but ultimately decided to dedicate myself to public service during the Revolution of Dignity.

As a young wife and mother, I made the decision to contribute to my country’s future in the way I could — by working for the development and well-being of my native Lviv. I took part in the “Young Generation Will Change Ukraine” program by the Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Foundation, within which we studied the experience of Norway. This Scandinavian model of societal development deeply inspired me and has proven valuable in my political career. A special motivator to not be afraid and to take responsibility was Bohdan Hawrylyshyn himself.

In my view, being an effective politician also requires continuous learning. That is why I studied “Local Self-Government: A Step Towards Efficiency” at the Institute of Political Education, and later completed “Political Studies” at the Ukrainian Catholic University. During these studies, I met inspiring people and like-minded colleagues from the Ukrainian Galician Party. In 2015, following a successful campaign, I became a member of the Lviv City Council representing the Ukrainian Galician Party. I was glad, as it offered yet another opportunity to serve my native Lviv. I continue to study today, now in the program on local democracy at the Swedish International Centre for Local Democracy (ICLD).

Why so many parenting initiatives in my work?

The greatest sense of helplessness I experienced was after the birth of my first son, Matviy. Even simple daily routes through Lviv proved extremely difficult. Taking a walk with a stroller felt like running an obstacle course. I could not easily enter a store or go out for coffee with friends — the city was not adapted for children. Visiting a doctor required extraordinary effort: we simply could not fit the stroller through the door. This became the turning point that motivated me to act.

I started with something simple — I created a Facebook group " Lviv, Child-Friendly " to highlight the lack of proper conditions for parents with children. Concerned citizens of Lviv supported this initiative and joined the discussion. This led to the establishment of the NGO "Parents in Action" .

Join us. As I deeply understand the challenges and stereotypes society holds about equal opportunities for women, especially working mothers, I volunteered to advocate for their rights as the Regional Coordinator in Lviv for the Ukrainian Women’s Democratic Network of IRI.

I am in politics because I want to live in a better country, with dignity and confidence today

For me, it is crucial that we never return to the old times of pervasive corruption, resource misappropriation, and disregard for citizens. I want to look with confidence into the eyes of those who have defended our skies since 2014 in the Russian-Ukrainian war, knowing that my own efforts strengthen Ukraine’s independence on the home front.

I am grateful to the experts of the civic network "Opora", who recognized my work and named me the most conscientious deputy of the 7th convocation of the Lviv City Council. I was simply doing my job with sincerity and dedication together with my team, implementing the program entrusted to us by thousands of Lviv residents who voted for the Ukrainian Galician Party.

Here is what we achieved in five years, though there are still many ideas and projects I am ready to implement — with the political will to do so as Head of the Lviv Territorial Community:

• Ініціаторка та співавторка розробки нового Статуту громади, що суттєво покращив відкритість та прозорість роботи ЛМР. Як наслідок у 2019 році ГМ "Опора" визнала роботу депутатів ЛМР найпрозорішою в Україні, у 2015 році це було 12 місце. Загалом публічність міста зросла з 10-го до 3 місця в Україні. в 2017 році Transparency Ukraine визначила Львів як найпрозоріше місто України;
• Спільно з експертами ініціювала реформу комунальних підприємств, а саме була автором ухвали про прозорість роботи комунальних підприємств, проведення обов'язкового щорічного незалежного аудиту;
• Також з експертами змінили підхід до прийняття рішень, які стосуються бізнесу: зробили цю процедуру прозорішою - як наслідок за інвестиційною привабливістю у 2019 році Львів посів І перше місце зі всіх міст України (більшість критеріїв - прозорість прийняття рішень);
• Ініціаторка побудови крематорію;
• Ініціаторка запровадження електронних петицій;
• Ініціаторка запровадження Дитячої дорадчої ради;
• Співрозробниця міської стратегії "Львів дружній до дітей", яка передбачає створення комфортних умов для батьківства;
• Спільно із ГО " Чесно" співініціаторка запровадження громадського бюджету у Львові;
• Перша депутатка в історії Львова - авторка рішення виконавчого комітету Про зміни до регламенту виконкому і зобов'язання їх працювати прозоро - з онлайн трансляціями і публікацією проектів рішень. Також прозоро почали працювати комісії виконкому (безпеки руху, житлова, містобудівна рада);
• Спільно із експертами ініціювала запровадження електронних аукціонів Prozorro.sales у ЛМР;
• Від імені УГП і як голова комісії законності виконала на 100% меморандум “Прозорі ради”, укладеного з громадськістю (Центр політичних студій та аналітики) перед виборами у 2015 році;
• Ініціювала широку підзвітність місцевої влади - тепер у Львові звітують всі, навіть ті, хто не передбачений законодавством;
• Співавторка антикорупційних заходів в ЛМР, які сьогодні впроваджує сектор доброчесності ЛМР;
• Ініціаторка запровадження громадського бюджету у школах серед учнів (почнеться з 2020 року);
• Співініціаторка створення кімнат для догляду за дітьми в громадських місцях та поліклініках, запровадження дитячих кутків чи кімнат у комунальних закладах;
• Спільно з ГО ініціювали та переконали Управління охорони здоров'я покращити умови для породіль в пологових будинках, а саме зробити ремонти, створити кнопки виклику акушерів, включити цілодобову гарячу воду в одному із пологових, запровадити кращий підхід до грудного вигодовування у закладах ОЗ;
• Ініціаторка створення скверу імені Олега Лишеги на вул. Новознесенській, створення сучасного простору та спортивного майданчика коло церкви поруч. На честь Олега Лишеги ми з чудовою командою зі Знесіння розпочали добросусідський фестиваль "Знесіння фест";
• Як депутатка проводила прийоми і зверталась зі всіх питань, які писали мені: каналізування мікрорайону Знесіння, встановлення дорожніх знаків, ремонт міжквартальних доріг на вул. Грінченка, ремонти дахів, ремонт бібліотеки, розпуск електрики тощо;
• Ініціювала впорядкування та запобігання незаконним похованням на закритих кладовищах Львова, як наслідок їх впорядкували та поставили охоронні засоби, почали розробляти єдину е-систему поховань у Львові;
• Спільно із колегою депутаткою ініціювали прозорий підхід до формування бюджету - бюджетну резолюцію;
• Ініціювала гендерно-орієнтований підхід до спортивних майданчиків у місті - не лише футбольні поля, а й мультифункціональні майданчики;
• Ініціювала актуалізацію гуртків у позашкіллі міста, однак виконання провалили;
• Проводила аудити доступності нововідремонтованих вулиць Львова (Личаківська, Замарстинівська), а також добилась встановлення засобів доступності на вул. Личаківській;
• Спільно з ГО добивалась реорганізації російських шкіл у Львові;
• Співавторка рішення про запобігання кнопкодавства серед депутатів ЛМР;
• Єдина серед депутатів публічно виступила ПРОТИ незаконних забудов Козловського на вул. Липинського і на Дорошенка;
